Jalen Montonati Shines for Owasso

Ranked #39 by Make5Media, 4⭐ Jalen Montonati, a 6’7” small forward from the class of 2026, stole the show with an efficient and dynamic offensive performance in his opening matchup against Long Island Lutheran with a 64-60 victory. Montonati shot 10-17 from the field, including an impressive 5-8 from beyond the arc, finishing with 28 points and 9 rebounds.

After the game, Montonati praised his team’s toughness and execution, stating, “I think just the toughness me & my teammates showed today was really on display. We executed the game plan very well and trusted each other all game. We really focused on getting back in transition & limiting them to one shot.”

Montonati’s recruiting continues to gain momentum, with offers from Kansas, Oklahoma, Alabama, and other top programs.

LuHi Struggles Without Kiyan Anthony

Long Island Lutheran struggled offensively in the absence of star guard Kiyan Anthony, turning to Dylan Mingo to keep them in the game. Mingo made valiant efforts, however Owasso’s playmaking forced LuHi into desperate situations.
